On the occasion of International Children’s Day, the Grand Priory of the United Kingdom extended its support to the Grand Priory of Ukraine to bring joy and comfort to disadvantaged and disabled children at an institute in Kyiv.
With the funds provided, our Ukrainian confrères distributed 60 gift packages filled with sweets, fruit, and other essential items. The gifts were met with delight and heartfelt gratitude, particularly by families who would otherwise be unable to afford such treats.
As the Grand Prior of Ukraine shared:
“It is impossible to convey the children’s joy from such a quantity of sweets. Many families do not have the opportunity to make such purchases. We also brought food sets to the parents. The weather was warm and the whole event took place outdoors.”
While only some of the children were able to attend the outdoor event, volunteers ensured that gifts were delivered later in the day to the homes of those who could not be present.
This small but meaningful act of kindness is a reminder of our shared mission: to bring relief and dignity to those most in need, particularly in times of difficulty and uncertainty. We thank the volunteers and members of the Ukrainian Grand Priory for their commitment, and look forward to receiving the final report upon their return from ongoing efforts in Lithuania.
