Brothers and supporters of St George’s Priory (UK) gathered in Farnborough for a night of reflection, solidarity and service, taking part in a sponsored Sleep Out to raise funds and awareness for Step by Step, a charity that supports vulnerable young people facing homelessness.
Braving the cool autumn air, Chev. Edward Stenning, accompanied by his faithful Labrador, Coco, and Chev. Andrew Wells joined others in sleeping outdoors to experience, in a small way, the hardship of a night without the comfort and security of home. The evening was marked by quiet camaraderie, thoughtful conversation and a shared commitment to a cause that reflects the Order’s values of compassion and community.
Thanks to the generosity of all who supported and donated, the event raised £700 for Step by Step. These funds will help the charity continue its vital work providing safe accommodation, counselling and practical assistance to young people across the region. Every contribution helps to offer stability, hope and a brighter path forward.
“It was a humbling experience,” said Chev. Edward Stenning. “Spending one night outside reminds us of the daily reality faced by so many. Supporting Step by Step allows us to turn empathy into meaningful action and help those taking their first steps toward rebuilding their lives.”
Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who donated, encouraged and gave so generously, and to the dedicated team at Step by Step for their ongoing efforts to transform lives through kindness, guidance and opportunity.
