The Grand Priory of the United Kingdom has donated £632 to support people affected by the devastating floods in Rasuwa, Nepal.
The donation was presented to the Greater Rushmoor Nepali Community (GRNC) at its office in Aldershot on 16 October 2026.
On 26 August 2026, severe flash floods swept through communities along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers, affecting Rasuwa and several other districts in central Nepal. Homes, markets, roads and bridges were damaged, alongside vital health services and hydropower infrastructure. The World Health Organization reported that around 10,000 households needed immediate relief across the affected areas. Source: World Health Organization
The destruction has left families facing the difficult task of rebuilding their lives, with damage to transport links and essential services adding to the challenges of recovery.
In a letter of thanks, GRNC President Lila Seling Mabo expressed sincere gratitude to HE Chev. Steve Gotting and the Order for their generosity and solidarity with the families affected.
“Your kindness and generosity mean so much to us and to the families affected by this disaster,” she wrote.
The President also thanked Bir Balal, Sunil Rana, Sushila Thapa and Sanjay Rai for their valuable support and for attending at short notice.
SHOSJ is grateful to the Greater Rushmoor Nepali Community for its work in supporting those affected. Our thoughts are with the people of Rasuwa and all the communities facing the aftermath of the floods.
