As we had planned earlier, two charitable events were held in Kiev and Kyiv region in April. Before Easter, on April 13, we visited orphanage “Malyatko” and replaced a large floor carpet in the playroom. You will see it in the photos. We also distributed apples, bananas, and kiwis. The children gave a big concert, and the whole event passed off in a very interesting way in a very joyous and touching atmosphere.
A few days ago, we visited an orphanage in Mezhyhirya where the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych had been living. He had escaped during the famous events of 2013 – 2014 and now is hiding in Russia. A family orphanage has been established near his former residence. Women with children have been living there for the past 3 years. They are taken care of by the crew of Maidan Hospital (Shpytal’ Maidanu). It is a really difficult time for them, although they have provided conveniences for their living conditions during these three years. They have become fond of the accommodation, where the security was previously housed, divided it into several rooms, have built a children’s playground, they also have made a games room, etc.

We brought them clothes donated to them by members of Grand Priory of Australia and fruits. These were bananas, kiwis and apples. At their request, we bought batteries (48 pieces) for children’s toys.
All the mothers and the children were happy. It really was a holiday for them. All of them are settlers from the Donbas; battle actions are currently taking place in these places. But they continue to believe that they will be able to return home. Today our whole country dreams of a peaceful life and is waiting for the end of the war. Furthermore, and with great pleasure, yesterday, the 26th of March, we moved the medical equipment and consumables, in the amount of 5330 Euro. Much of the equipment has long been working in the rehabilitation center. The photos show only a part of a lot of the 48 positions transferred. It was the first, and we hope not the last charity goods transfer to the Rehabilitation Center Shpytal Maidanu. So, all the Shpytal Maidanu Ambulance vehicles, equipped with all the requisite stuff and consumables, which are used in the area of Anti-Terroristic Operation will be marked with the label bearing the SHOSJ logo. The vehicle is seen on page 19. We are grateful to the members GP of the Orient, especially Brother Francis Tin and GP of Germany, Brother Olaf Schabbach for the valuable support given to Ukraine in such a hard time as this is for us. We have other projects planned for the future.
